Cable & Cotton Xmas Decorations with Louise Mair
Put simply: I love Christmas and decorating for the festive season so when the fabulous Cable & Cotton asked me to style up some of their lights for Christmas I couldn’t wait to get started. I always have a tree in my living room and one in my dining room so I decided to go for two completely contrasting looks and I love that you can choose your own colours for a completely bespoke look. For my living room I chose 50 led lights in raspberry red, forest green, pure white and bubblegum pink and for my dining room 50 led lights in pure white. I firstly styled the coloured lights on my living room mantel with little bottle brush trees and antique sweetie jars filled with vintage glass baubles and I loved how it looked with all the bright pops of festive colours.
I put them onto my tree which looked fab as they serve a double purpose of being both decorations and lights and they look so pretty even when they’re not switched on.
For my dining room decor this Christmas I’ve gone for a more contemporary Scandi look using lots of white and silver and the white lights compliment this style beautifully! I styled them on my sideboard first with some little Schleich animals and bottle brush trees and loved how effective it looks.
I have a huge silver mirror in my dining room and loved the lights round it as well as it they reflected so beautifully and looked super pretty and I think they might find a permanent home here after Christmas!
Finally I decorated my dining room tree with the white lights and some silver glass baubles and I was thrilled with the result as it looked even better than I imagined and with a sparkly silver sequinned cushion on my white armchair it all tied together beautifully.
Hope this has given you a little inspiration for your Christmas decorating and I’m loving having two completely different looks this year as it means I have the best of both worlds. And using these Cable & Cotton lights has made it even more fun this year!
